To be a successful blogger you have to keep different aspects in mind though the basic thing is being able to write compelling and appealing content on a constant basis over time.

Select a Topic: This is an imperative part when it comes to developing a successful series and also with single posts. Choose a topic that is large enough to affirm multiple posts but convenient enough not to overpower you. You shouldn’t be writing a post just for the sake of it.

Write a list: This is the second step which involves compiling a list of main points that you wish to include in your blog. The lists usually start as bullet point lists of keywords and phrases and after that a few descriptive sentences under each point is added to flesh them out a little.

Set your Target: Set some goals for the series and try to establish boundaries for it. You have to decide how many posts you need to complete which in turn will help you decide how long it will run for.

Set up Draft Posts: Take the list you have created and take whatever you have written for each post so far (often just a few keywords and a sentence or two) and copy and paste them into some draft posts on your blog.

Select a Title: The title for your series is an important factor. Selecting an appropriate topic helps your series to be marketed. Picking the title for a series is pretty analogous to the process of choosing one for individual posts and is often a combination of choosing something that is appealing as well as choosing something with good keywords in it.

Announce the Series: You should announce the series with an introductory post. This serves a number of purposes including letting your readers know what to expect and also making you accountable to finish what you have started.

Write an Introduction to the Series: The Introductory post will outline where you’ll be headed over the coming days. This might even include announcing your actual topics but could be more general also. The focus of the introductory post is to help highlight the ‘need’ that the series will help to address.

Write a Post per Day: You should write a post per day in order to keep your posts fresh.

Interlink your Posts: It is very important to interlink your posts. While your current regular readers will be able to follow your post by logging on each day or reading it in RSS – future readers of your blog might often come in via a search engine to a middle post in the series and if you haven’t linked to the rest will have to go searching for it.

Finish your series well: It is important to finish your series well. Readers like closure and it’s often good to finish a series with a short synopsis of what’s been written and some reflections on the process of writing the series itself. In this way you not only get reader interaction but also develop a better rounded exposure of the topic as your readers add their own proficiency and experience.
