No matter how much we love the work we do or how well we gel with our colleagues it is very common to feel stressed out once in a while. If we do not appropriately deal with workplace stress issues, it can negatively impact our career in many different ways. Here are a few small(yet useful) “fundas” to keep you away from the stress bug:

  • Work without being overworked:

Make a list of all the things you need to accomplish in a day-Set yourself a timetable, prioritise your most important tasks and set deadlines for yourself. Try neither to procrastinate nor rush to finish work because it will not only up your stress levels, but will also influence the quality of your work.

  • Don’t forget to eat:

Have a good breakfast before work and spend your lunch break enjoying your food rather than pushing it off to finish some “important” work- Just get away from your desk and give your eyes and back a much needed relief.

  • Issues with others in the workplace:                                                                                                                                                                          Conflict with co-workers and bosses can ruin lives and productivity. So it’s better to act courteously, respectfully, and professionally with others. If there is something bothering you, try and sort it out bottling it up inside.
  • Take a coffee/”smoke”(mind you, am not against statutory warnings) break:

Taking regular brief breaks away from your desk allows your body time to recuperate. Your legs get stretched, and eyes and mind get a break and if you go outside the fresh air and new environment will ensure you feel refreshed when you return to your desk. Take a colleague along with you. Good conversation helps you relax and stimulates other areas of your brain.
A stress-free office environment helps us to increase productivity and feel good & confident about the work we do. So just try and follow the simple steps(and add a few more of your own) and enjoy work.
