Every day we visit any website, we see that it is claiming “we are the best”.  Really? I personally hate the companies who use such lines like “We provide the best service/product…” What is the standard of “best”? See, marketing is essential to get good business but most people never understand that claiming something and doing that, is completely different. Nobody wants to hear what you are or how good you are! In the world of marketing and promotion what sells best is not what you claim but what you do. Your product/service shall say how good or bad you are. Here are some useful tips that will make your online business credible in the eyes of your clientele.

Showcase some examples of your claim: Don’t use dramatic or exaggerated words in your website. Nobody wants to hear it. If you can then give a case study of a service that you did for a customer. That will make your reliable to your future client. Don’t just say your price is cheapest. Show your product and give an option to let the customer compare it with other products.

Be honest: If you claim something in your website then always fulfil that claim. Don’t say we offer “Free Shipping” and later charge a customer showing some hidden terms and conditions. Say, you don’t offer free shipping for any product less than 100rs. That’s o.k. But write it in bold letters in your website. Otherwise people will feel they are cheated. It’s not that buyer doesn’t want to pay for shipping charges; it’s just that he does not want to get tricked. The trust factor is so important in online business because the buyer never sees the seller face to face. That means you must put extra effort to earn credibility.

Avoid advertising: Yes! Don’t get confused! I mean use the tool of advertising rather intelligently. For example, if you see iPad is giving an ad that “it’s the best tablet”, you may doubt it. The buyer always believes that the ads claim good things about everything it shows. But if you submit an article or review of that same product in any good site and a prospective buyer reads it he will feel that this article is written by a geek who just wants to help, not to sell anything. Thus your ultimate purpose is served. You reached the eyes and brain of the target audience.

Free gifts: You may argue that how free gifts build credibility? It actually does. Some websites even give free gifts just for signing up. Giving something to people, regardless of the cost, makes them more likely to trust you and even to return the favour by buying something from you.

Testimonials: If you do not sell a product, rather offer services to different sectors then this is a very useful tool for you to build credibility. As you have no products to show how good you are, highlight what people say about you. You will surely convince more people if they see what past clients have said about you.
